UNDOCK !
The order came clear over the voice com.
In unison the Ushra’Khan fleet undocked.

Align zxic and initiate warp on my command, Sapphrines voice boomed.
The behemots of destruction slowly turned for the gate.

We were embarking on a journey to an undisclosed location. Destination had been set for HED- and there were general agreement that we would be fighting in the Catch area.
The fleet moved slowly and orderly and reached HED- without incidents. Surprise and bravado erupted when destination was revealed to be Paye. A system located in the Amarr sovereign space where CONCORD also hold jurisdiction. Some pilots uttered regret as they were on the KOS list of the Amarr empire and had to turn back, but they understood the need for secrecy and the late revelation of the target system. The fleet jumped into Keberz when a war target Harbinger were reported in the next system. We jumped a few battleships into the system when we learned he was on the other side of out gate in the hope of pushing him to us. It worked perfect and his ship landed in the middle of 60 battleships and the race started if he would be able to warp out or get locked by the much bigger ships. Just as he was getting to full speed my Megathron locked and released its payload.
As always when so many ships are in an engagement the logs cant follow up with the number of projectiles and the damage inflicted.
The fleet moved on. System after system we moved on with a quick stop in agil to make sure everyone were stocked on ammo.

A fleet is alway a majestic sight but as I started to take note of the differnt ships that made up the composition of our fleet I were if for some surprises.
Some of the ships were expensive and some directly rare. An Apocalypse Navy Issue, piloted by O Thief were mixed with Paladins and even the strange Bhaalgorn Battleship of the Bloodraiders piloted by Lord Makk were part of the fleet.

We finaly arrived at our destination and took in the place where Sylph had desided not to fight. We had hoped that Sylph would meet up for a fight with their mercenaries Privateers.
I dont have any real intel on that Privateers are indeed employed by Sylph but for some reason they declare war every time we declare war on Sylph… I find it less than a coincident.

We landed at the Starbase some distance off to take in the view and consider our options. In my eyes it did not look dangerous at all. But many of our newer pilots are not used to fighting Starbases and as such mistakes can be costly.

We started from the top and worked our way on the modules deployed to defend the Starbase, also called “declawing”. It was less than impressive. But then again the Starbase was never meant to withstand a full force attack but with good gunners it should have been able to do some damage. Sylph does not have good gunners though or at least not anyone interested in defending this Starbase.

Not long after the Starbase was reinforced and the fleet turned for home. We would be back in a day and 16 hours to finish the job.
Little did we know that this was the first uneventful shots fired in what was to turn into a prolonged battle of proportions I have only seen almost a year back…
